New UM Laurel Medical Center Opens Its Doors on June 4
June 04, 2023The all-new University of Maryland Laurel Medical Center (UM LMC) will officially open its new doors on June 4, replacing the older facility on the same campus—representing phase 1 of a multi-phase plan to create a health and wellness destination campus.
UM SAFE Center and UM Capital Region Health Receive Grant to Implement Human Trafficking Response Model
November 30, 2022The Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) awarded the University of Maryland Support, Advocacy, Freedom, and Empowerment (SAFE) Center for Human Trafficking Survivors, in partnership with the University of Maryland Capital Region Health (UM Capital), a $799,878 grant to establish a comprehensive human trafficking response and referral pathway in five units at UM Capital Region Medical Center in Prince George's County.
University of Maryland Capital Region Health Names Joel Sandler Chief Nursing Officer
November 17, 2022Joel A. Sandler, MBA, BSN, RN, FACVP, has been named UM Capital Region Health's (UM Capital) new Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. Sandler, who has been serving in an interim role, will have oversight of all nursing practices for inpatient, ambulatory, perioperative and procedural services, as well as behavioral health and patient engagement.
